Paul Bower is a PhD Architecture Student at the School of Planning, Architecture & Civil Engineering (SPACE) in Queen’s University Belfast. His supervisors are Professor Ruth Morrow and Dr Agustina Martire.
Before 2012, Paul was a director for four years at the workers co-operative URBED (Urbanism, Environment & Design) in Manchester where he worked as an urban designer. Paul remains an URBED member and is affiliated through being a founding member of the Carbon Co-op and continues to live in Manchester whilst studying for his PhD. Previously Paul studied architecture at both Degree and Masters level at the University of Sheffield. His interest in Belfast and Northern Ireland began with his fifth year thesis design project – Reprogramming the Wall in studio 2 – Strategies of Transition led by Professor Doina Petrescu and Aidan Hoggard.
